Amongst my many Pinterest interests, one came to mind that I had to do. Ori-Janel Creations has always been one to recycle items, therefore "up cycling" them, and making them into something new or different. Cigar Boxes made into boxes and purses was just one of the first steps to a whole world of options.
Recently I've seen many items on Pinterest, where I get my inspiration from, and from other people who make these items. I do not take credit for this idea, I just "borrowed" it.
I had such a good time with just the thrill of thrift shopping and seeing what you can find. I found this box at Goodwill and the know is broken off, but I will be replacing it. Just had to get this one up and going, it's my favorite so far.

The handle was missing, but that didn't stop me. I'm going to hit Lowe's or Home Depot soon and find one to go with it. I used spray paint for the color and scrapbook paper for the decorum. I've been hanging onto this Amy Butler paper forever, not wanting to use it, but I finally made up my mind to use it.
This was actually my second one, the first one I made was this one:
I sanded and spray painted the whole box brown and added paper to the glass doors inside and out. the whole box was in GREAT condition. Some of the ones you find in stores can have awful insides, not worth buying. My new "addiction" is so much fun and I will be listing jewelry boxes to come such as these in my Etsy.com shop.
